UI-PCG has multiple openings for Early Intervention Reading Instructors in Richmond, VA.
-Provide small group or one-to-one research-based reading intervention to students in kindergarten through third grade who demonstrate deficiencies in early reading skills.
-Plan with teachers to provide developmentally appropriate learning lessons and activities that are structured to advance student’s understanding of the fundamentals of reading.
-Implement and model proven instructional methodologies to help students develop the literacy skills needed to meet grade level reading proficiency and the Standards of Learning for elementary reading and writing objectives.
-Workswith the classroom teacher to support progress monitoring of student growth. Works collaboratively with the teacher to plan, implement, and review needed interventions for specific students.
-Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, elementary education or related field OR
-60 credit hours from an accredited college/university
-Experience providing small group or one-to-one instructional support with students in the area of reading or language instruction
-Basic technology skills to access resources will be need
